     The Rome Federated Garden Clubs, Inc. is a charitable and educational corporation whose objective is to coordinate the interests of area garden clubs. Our   mission is to promote civic and environmental responsibilities, provide resources for our member clubs and encourage the love of gardening and floral design.  The organization is comprised of nine clubs and one affiliate.

Father, creator of all our expressions of beauty and of our love for this land, You give us each day our remembrance of our heritage, for it was in the Garden that you chose to bring us life and life more abundantly.  For with the design of your brush, you painted the joyous picture we enjoy in all the seasons.

          You have given your blessings for all to enjoy.  However, though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit is on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be  cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet we will rejoice in the Lord, we will joy in the God of our deliverance.

          God, the Lord, is our strength:  He makes our feet like deer feet; He makes us tread upon our high places.  We enjoy the sun that makes the day bright and the moon that lights our way at night.  The birds will sing and the bee will make its honey.  Though the wind may blow and rustles the tree’s leaves, we know not where it comes nor do we know where it goes.  However, we know where the glory of the land lies and we give praise to our Heavenly Father.

          So we ask, our Lord, that you keep our soul quiet --- for just a moment --- so that we may hear the sound of shuffling sandal feet upon our heart; the touch of angel’s wings upon our shoulders; and hear the mighty voice of our Father in our ears as we seek our all-powerful Savior from the Garden of Eden to this day.

Hi Jackie.

I just wanted to send you a quick e-mail to say thank you for your webpage (www.romefederatedgardenclubs.com).  My name is Kristina, and I’m a middle school teacher.  I came across your page while looking for information for Earth Week.  Our principal wants us all to start using our classroom computers even more now, so I needed to find some various information and resources on gardening to explore during class time.  Just wanted to say thanks from all the help! J

I also wanted to let you know about a link that my student found on gardening for kids:  www.mycoupons.com/store/garden-basics-for-kids.  Could you add this to your list of resources?  I’d like to show her that she is making contributions to the class, because lately she has been struggling to keep up with her work.  Plus, I thought it would be a great addition for other kids looking for information about gardening as well.

I’m trying to figure out a way to give her some extra credit, and I thought having her suggestion posted would be a good way.  Thanks again, and hope you are enjoying some nice spring weather!
